About

Local since 1987, and built for this work.

I am Matthew Kleinman, a licensed real estate advisor with Point Break Properties, working under Realty ONE Group Coastal. I help people buy, sell, and relocate across the Charleston Lowcountry, with a focus on corporate and military relocations and a heroes program for the people who serve our communities. I bring a working background most agents do not have.

Why the background matters

Before real estate, I spent years in the trades. Construction and demolition. HVAC installation and service, with EPA certification. That is why I can walk a house and tell you whether that "minor" issue is cosmetic or expensive, read an HVAC system instead of guessing at it, and talk to inspectors and contractors in their own language. When you are spending this kind of money, a real read on the property is worth a lot.

The other half is marketing. I worked at a local 5-station radio group as Promotions Director and Digital Media Director. Marketing was my full-time job before real estate. When it comes to selling your home, that matters more than most sellers realize. It means knowing how attention actually works, how to position a property, where buyers really see it, and which marketing dollars move the needle versus which ones just look busy.

How I work

Concise, low pressure, and direct. I would rather give you the honest version and let you decide than push you toward a yes. If something about a property or a deal does not add up, I will say so. That is the whole point of having an advisor instead of a search bar.

Who I help

Buyers and sellers across Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Summerville, Goose Creek, the islands, and the wider Lowcountry. A few specific lanes make up most of my work:

Corporate relocations. Families and professionals moving in from out of state for a job, often on a tight timeline. I handle the local concierge piece end to end. Tours, neighborhoods, schools, commutes, and the day-to-day details that decide whether a place actually fits your life. If you are a recruiter or HR partner placing talent in the area, I work with you directly to make the move smoother for the candidate and their family.

Military relocations. PCS moves are their own animal. Quick turnarounds, VA loan considerations, base proximity, and the realities of moving a family on the military timeline. I work with active duty, reservists, veterans, and military families across the metro.

Beyond those, I work with first-time buyers, move-up buyers, sellers at every price point, investors, and buyers looking at active adult living. The common thread is the same approach: honest, specific, and built around what actually fits you.

Heroes program: special incentives for those who serve

If your career is built around serving the rest of us, you should get a meaningful break when you buy or sell your home. I offer special incentives at closing for clients in these professions:

  • Active military and veterans
  • Law enforcement, including local, state, and federal officers
  • Firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and other first responders
  • Healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and EMS
  • Teachers and educators, including K through 12 and higher education

Reach out for the specifics for your situation. It is a real benefit, not a marketing line, and the savings show up at closing.
